Cheesburger

Ein leckerer Käseburger.

1 beaten egg
2 tablespoons milk or water
3/4 cup soft bread crumbs (1 slice) or 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons chopped onion or 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 pound ground beef, ground pork, ground veal or ground lamb
6 hamburger buns, spilt and toasted

 

1. In a large mixing bowl combine egg and milk or water. Stir in bread crumbs, onion or onion powder, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper. Add ground meat. Mix well. Shape meat mixture into ½-inch-thick patties.

2. Place patties on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 3 to 4 inches from the heat till no pink remains, turnig once. Broil patties for 10 to 12 minutes. Place 1 slice American, Swiss, cheddar, mozarella, Monterey Jack, Monterey Jack with jalapeño peppers or Muenster cheese atop each patty at the end of cooking time. Broil about 1 minute more or till cheese begins to melt. Serve on buns. Makes 6 servings.
